加纳总统 John Dramani Mahama 先生与 Eni 集团首席执行官 Claudio Descalzi 先生就扩大上游石油行业的业务进行了讨论。
President Mahama Meets Eni CEO: Italian Firm Keen to Increase Investment
President John Dramani Mahama and Eni’s Chief Executive Officer, Claudio Descalzi, have held discussions on expanding operations in the upstream petroleum industry.
During the discussions held in Accra, Eni brought to the President attention some new short and medium-term exploration and development opportunities. The Italian company particularly expressed interest in increasing its stake in the upstream petroleum industry.
The move, according to the CEO, is testament to the company’s confidence in Ghana.
Mr. Descalzi also illustrated the achievements of the Offshore Cape Three Points project (OCTP), the biggest investment made by a private company in Ghana, completed ahead of schedule and under budget, with first oil in 2017 and first gas in 2018.
Gas from the OCTP project is fully dedicated to domestic consumption, providing a safe and reliable energy source to meet Ghana’s internal needs. It contributes approximately 70 percent of the country’s total domestic gas production.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to discuss Eni’s plans for economic diversification in Ghana.
Eni has been present in Ghana since 2009. The company is the operator of the OCTP project with a 44.4 percent share, in partnership with Vitol (35.6 percent) and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (20 percent).
Its portfolio of projects also include initiatives in the areas of training, economic diversification, access to water and sanitation, and access to energy.
